Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili needs neuropsychological rehabilitation abroad, neurologist Otar Toidze, who is a member of the medical council created under the Ombudsman of Georgia, told reporters, Report informs referring to local media outlets.

“His neurological status is the leading one in his disease. These are stable problems with movement, coordination, change of character. However, this does not go beyond the normative framework. Now he mainly needs special rehabilitation, the possibility of which we did not find in Georgia,” Toidze said, adding that Saakashvili needs treatment in a special institution, which Georgia doesn’t have.

A medical council formed under the Georgian Ombudsman examined the ex-president on December 12 evening. The relatives and friends of the former president have repeatedly stated that he is depressed. In addition, the head of the Empathy rehabilitation center, Mariam Jishkariani, said that Saakashvili was injected with large doses of psychotropic drugs
