Deputy Minister: Georgia supports initiatives aimed at development of SGC

Georgia supports initiatives aimed at the further development of the Southern Gas Corridor, according to Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Romeo Mikautadze, who represents Georgia at the 8th ministerial meeting within the Advisory Council of the Southern Gas Corridor in Baku.

He stressed the importance of the broad recognition of the SGC significance, especially in light of recent events and in an environment where Europe is actively trying to diversify the sources of gas imports.

The deputy minister emphasized the importance of the corridor for the energy security of both the region and the countries that receive or can receive natural gas through this corridor.

As part of his working visit to Azerbaijan, the deputy minister also held bilateral meetings with representatives of local and foreign companies operating in the energy sector.
