The draft law on the new constitution of Uzbekistan was supported by 90.21% of voters, Report informs, citing the preliminary data of the country’s Central Election Commission (CEC).

The referendum on amendments to the constitution of Uzbekistan was held at the initiative of the President of the country Shavkat Mirziyoyev. One of the main amendments to the country’s basic law concerns the extension of the powers of the country’s president from five to seven years.
