Poland calls on Germany to send troops to reinforce Nato’s eastern border

Poland expects Germany to send its troops to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank.

According to the Report, Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Andrzej Shejna said in an interview with the Rzeczpospolita newspaper

“We would welcome any intervention by our allies as the war approaches our eastern border. If the Germans do as they did in Lithuania, herzlich willkommen (welcome – ed.),” the Polish Deputy Foreign Minister said.

Shejna emphasised that Germany is Poland’s “important economic partner”.

“I believe that this should also be reflected in our political relations,” he said.

The Polish Foreign Ministry has announced a meeting with colleagues from Germany and France in the near future.
