Kazakhstan increased oil exports via BTC

Kazakhstan increased the amount of oil exported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline to 1 million 392 thousand tonnes in 2023, Trend reported.

KazTransOil JSC exported 3 million 376 thousand tonnes of Kazakh oil from the port of Aktau in 12 months of 2023, which is 1 million 108 thousand tonnes more than in the same period of 2022.

The increase in the volume of Kazakh oil transported for export through the port of Aktau is due to an increase in the volume of raw materials arriving through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline. The volume in this direction increased by 5.5 times compared to the same period in 2022, from 250 thousand tonnes to 1 million 392 thousand tonnes. Particularly significant volumes of oil (1 million 57 thousand tonnes) were shipped from the Tengiz field.

During the reporting period, 1 million 984 thousand tonnes of oil was also shipped from Aktau port to Makhachkala port.

As previously reported, Kazakhstan delivered 993 thousand tonnes of oil to Germany in 2023.
