The VI Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia will be held in Astana on August 9, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said during a meeting with the secretaries of the security councils of Central Asian countries.
According to Tokayev, the first meeting of the Security Council secretaries should become an effective platform for joint efforts to prevent external and internal challenges and threats, as well as develop the necessary measures to counter them.
“Mutual trade and economic cooperation between the countries of the region is actively expanding. Over the past five years, intraregional trade has increased by more than 80% and exceeded $10 billion. At the same time, the problems of a planned increase in export-import transactions and an increase in the range of goods are being solved,” he noted.
