Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosts Chinese Minister of Public Security

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the visiting member of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong on Monday.

According to the presidential press service, the parties discussed the ways to expand cooperation and coordinating joint efforts in the fight against modern challenges and security threats.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev underscored the potential and opportunities for fruitful interdepartmental cooperation in the law enforcement sphere.

The parties named the exchange of experience and holding joint events in the main areas of public security, the introduction of modern information technologies and innovative methods of work, the fight against cybercrime, the training of qualified specialists and others as priority areas.

The parties also discussed the interprovincial cooperation.

On the same day, negotiations between Wang Xiaohong and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan Pulat Bobojonov took place.

The ministers discussed the ways to strengthen cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism, drug trafficking and other types of transnational organized crime.

They considered organization of special training courses for law enforcement officers in the field of combating cybercrime and digital forensics, as well as the establishment of cooperation between the Research Institute of Criminology under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and four research centers of the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China.

A statement from the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that in recent years, systematic cooperation in the fight against international terrorism, extremism and transnational crime and ensuring public safety has reached a new level. “The exchange of information and mutual experience between ministries, advanced training of personnel, and bilateral visits are intensively carried out,” the message underscores.

At the meeting, a cooperation program for 2024–2025 was signed between the two ministries of the two countries.
