Russia and Uzbekistan plan to develop transport and chemical industry

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Russian leader Vladimir Putin during his visit to Kazan on 21 February. During the meeting, the possibilities of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of chemistry, transport and pharmaceuticals were discussed. Special attention was paid to the development of efficient transport routes and deepening cooperation in the field of rail transport. These developments were announced by the President’s press service.

Mr Shavkat Mirziyoyev also congratulated Mr Vladimir Putin on the successful holding in Russia of the first international “Games of the Future”, which brought together traditional sports disciplines and cyber sports. The two sides also discussed topical issues, including the implementation of the agreements reached at the talks in October 2023. The presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics in the development of bilateral cooperation. They noted the successful implementation of joint projects in the chemical, pharmaceutical, energy and industrial spheres, as well as the growth in trade volumes.
