President’s envoy for Afghanistan meets with British Minister of State for Armed Forces

Yesterday, president’s envoy for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Ergashev met with the British Minister of State for the Armed Forces, James Heappey.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed the Uzbek-British ties, regional security, including the situation in Afghanistan.

James Heappey highly valued Uzbekistan’s efforts to strengthen its regional position on Afghanistan, to establish long-term peace and stability in this country, as well as to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.

Reportedly, Great Britain was ready to continue active cooperation with Uzbekistan to address the situation in Afghanistan.
