Kazakh president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev hosted the Uzbek Senate’s chairperson Tanzila Narbayeva. During the meeting, the parties discussed the Uzbek-Kazakh ties in the context of the development of inter-parliamentary relations.
Welcoming Tanzila Narbayeva, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his gratitude for the support and active participation in an important initiative – the Dialogue of Women in Central Asia, held today in Astana.
He voiced confidence that the outcomes of the first meeting of this platform would contribute to the stepping up of intra-regional cooperation and would make it possible to develop long-term solutions in the field of ensuring gender equality and sustainable development in Central Asia.
Tokayev noted that her visit was a clear example of the special nature of bilateral cooperation and fully corresponds to the level of strategic partnership and alliance between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
– We highly value the results of our state visit to Uzbekistan in December last year. On March 3 this year, an informal meeting was held in Shymkent, during which the most pressing issues of cooperation between our countries were discussed. It is gratifying that well-coordinated work is being carried out not only at the governmental level, but also inter-parliamentary diplomacy is actively developing. Therefore, I welcome the holding of the second Inter-Parliamentary Forum next year in Samarkand, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
In turn, Tanzila Narbayeva thanked for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings from the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
– We highly appreciate the large-scale reforms that are being carried out under your leadership in Kazakhstan. I would like to congratulate you on the successful holding of major events that contributed to the political modernization of the entire system of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is confidently following the path of progressive reforms and the people actively support the course that you are implementing, – said the Senate Chairperson.
In conclusion, the President of Kazakhstan expressed warm words of greeting and good wishes to the leader of Uzbekistan.
