EU pushed itself into energy crisis – Zakharova

Maria Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, on Saturday accused the leaders of European countries of provoking the energy crisis on the continent and in the European Union “in particular,” APA reports citing Teletrader.

The spokeswoman told TV Centre television channel that the bloc now has to convince its citizens that the current situation “is not just good, it’s not just right, it’s in their own interests,” TASS reported.

The EU is currently experiencing a worsening energy crisis largely because of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and Moscow’s suspension of natural gas exports which came in response to the punitive measures imposed by the bloc.
