Asian markets close day with mixed figures

Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 falls 0.19%, China’s Shanghai rises 0.54%

ANKARA (AA) – Major stock markets in Asia posted mixed figures at Tuesday’s close amid ongoing Chinese developer Evergrande’s debt crisis and a widening power shortage in China.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, lost 10.4 points, or 0.26%, to close at 3,925 points.

Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 stock exchange slipped 56.1 points, or 0.19%, to 30,184.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, climbed 291.6 points, or 1.20%, to 24,500.

China’s Shanghai stock exchange was also on positive territory, rising by 19.4 points, or 0.54%, to 3,602 points.

Singapore index decreased 20 points, or 0.64%, to 3,080, and the Indian Sensex benchmark went down 859.2 points, or 1.43%, to 59,218.
