Russian energy giant Gazprom has halted gas supply to Latvia, citing a “violation” of the conditions for gas withdrawal.

“Today, Gazprom stopped its gas supplies to Latvia specified in the July request due to a violation of the conditions established for gas withdrawal,” the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

The company had previously stopped natural gas shipments to Poland, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, and the Netherlands on the grounds that they had not paid in rubles.
