State Secretary of Slovenia meets with a number of Mongolian officials

State Secretary of Slovenia Sanja Štiglic held political consultations with State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Ankhbayar Nyamdorj in Ulaanbaatar. They agreed that the bilateral dialogue was dynamic and could be further strengthened through high-level political visits, the Foreign Ministry of Slovenia said.

The State Secretaries reaffirmed their interest in deepening relations, particularly in the areas of the economy, tourism and education. They also exchanged views on ways to strengthen cooperation between both countries in the multilateral field and on gender equality and women’s empowerment, commitment to multilateralism and international law, environmental protection, climate change adaptation and water diplomacy.

During her visit to Ulaanbaatar, State Secretary Sanja Štiglic paid a courtesy call to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh. She also held talks with Mongolian Minister of Digital Development and Communications Uchral Nyam-Osor, during which they affirmed their willingness to exchange Slovenian and Mongolian experience in the fields of digital development, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

The State Secretary also had a meeting with President of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dashtseren Enkhtuvshin. The sides reaffirmed their interest in deepening economic cooperation between the two countries and agreed that reciprocal visits by business delegations would contribute to this end. Sanja Štiglic also visited the Honorary Consulate of Slovenia in Ulaanbaatar, headed by Bolormaa Batbayar, and thanked the Honorary Consul for her efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation and to promote Slovenia in Mongolia.
