Uzbekistan, South Korea to cooperate in adaptation to climate change

On October 19, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved the Framework Agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan and South Korea on cooperation in the field of climate change.

The Agreement was signed in Tashkent on June 1 of this year. The Ministry of Economy and Finance has been assigned as the authority in charge for the implementation of the agreement.

The goal of the agreement is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build capacity to adapt to the negative impacts of climate change and thereby ensure a transition to a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy.

Joint Committee on Cooperation in the Field of Climate Change is envisaged to take place to coordinate activities for the implementation of the document.
