New High Commissioner of India to Maldives calls on Minister of State for Foreign Affairs

According to Ministrer of Foreign Affairs of Maldives news, High Commissioner of India to Maldives, Munu Mahawar paid a courtesy call on the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel, today.

At the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Minister Khaleel congratulated the High Commissioner on presenting his credentials and exchanged views over ways in which the positive dynamism in the Maldives-India relationship can be sustained and further strengthened.

Highlighting the various milestones achieved since His Excellency President Solih took office in November 2018, State Minister expressed appreciation of the people and the Government of Maldives to the Government of India for the support extended to the Maldives on various fronts. State Minister also stressed on the generous assistance India provides to the Maldives throughout any crisis, including the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

High Commissioner Mahawar thanked for the warm welcome and conveyed his commitment to working closely with the Government and people of the Maldives in continuing the efforts to enhance the bilateral relation between both countries in areas of mutual interest.

State Minister was accompanied by Joint Secretary, Abdul Waris Saeed, and Director, Umaira Mohamed. High Commissioner was accompanied by Deputy High Commissioner Rohit Rathish.
