Interim Foreign Minister Norov hosts SG of Organization of Turkic States

On May 31 the Interim Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov hosted the visiting delegation of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) headed by the Secretary General Baghdad Amreev.

At the meeting, the parties discussed state and the ways to advance the multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and OTS, the Foreign Ministry reported.

During the meeting, the sides commended the dynamic nature of the development of multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and the organization in the economic, trade, transport, customs, tourism, law enforcement, cultural and humanitarian areas.

The sides considered schedule of upcoming events in the country held jointly with the OTS, including a youth forum, an international scientific conference on the topic “The place of the Kokand Khanate in the formation of the cultural heritage and the development of the statehood of the Turkic peoples”, a meeting of ministers of agriculture and a Turkic agricultural forum.

A thorough exchange of views took place on the implementation of initiatives to further expand cooperation within the UTC, put forward by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the Organization of Turkic States’ Summit on November 12, 2021 in Istanbul.

Particular attention was paid to issues related to the preparation and holding of the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States to be held this year in Uzbekistan.
