State of emergency extended to avert threats stemming from Russia’s war on Ukraine.
Hungarian lawmakers on Thursday voted to extend state of emergency in the country in the wake of Russia’s ongoing war in bordering Ukraine.
Justice Minister Judit Varga submitted the bill to extend state of emergency in parliament, where it was approved by 116 votes to 43.
In late May, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced state of emergency to enable his country to take quick decisions in response to security and economic threats posed by the war.
