Mongolia and Kazakhstan sign memo of cooperation in nuclear energy

The leaders of Mongolia and Kazakhstan have signed a joint declaration aimed at elevating partnership between two countries to a “strategic” level, expanding cooperation in the political, security, economic and cultural spheres.

A key component of this is a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. The memorandum was signed by Secretary-General of the Atomic Energy Commission of Mongolia Manlaijav Gun-Aajav and Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Mongolia Gabit Koishibayev.

The two countries plan to exchange experiences in uranium mining, radiation safety, and organize joint trainings, seminars and meetings to support professional development in this sector.
