Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosts head of OSCE/ODIHR observer mission

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the head of the mission of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE/ODIHR) Urszula Gachek on Monday. They reviewed the preparation and holding of the upcoming presidential elections.

According to the presidential press service, the Bureau’s experts contributed to the modernization of the national electoral system, including the development of the Electoral Code.

The OSCE/ODIHR mission also deployed mission in the constitutional referendum on 30 April this year.

The parties thoroughly exchange views on various aspects of holding a popular vote in accordance with international standards.

Reportedly, Urszula Gachek voiced support for the irreversible processes of further deepening democratic transformations and socio-economic reforms in Uzbekistan.
