President of Turkmenistan met with his Kyrgyz counterpart

On 6 February, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov discussed interstate cooperation in a telephone conversation with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Japarov. This was reported by the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” publication reported.

The parties noted that one of the priority areas of cooperation is the trade and economic sphere, which is showing a growth trend. Traditional cultural and humanitarian contacts are also making progress. Constructive political dialogue is also developing and the countries are actively cooperating within the framework of international organisations.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed support to the friendly country in overcoming the current situation at the thermal power plant in Bishkek and wished the restoration work to be completed as soon as possible. The Head of State emphasised that he had sent a cargo of humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan in connection with the incident and was ready to provide all possible assistance if necessary.

On behalf of the Kyrgyz people and himself, Sadyr Japarov expressed his sincere gratitude for the words of empathy at this difficult moment. The politician noted that Kyrgyzstan highly values friendly relations with Turkmenistan, which was among the first to come to the aid of the neighbouring country.
