Over 400 people pardoned in Uzbekistan by decree of president

A total of 402 people were pardoned by decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Report informs via Uzbek media.

Of those pardoned, 128 persons were utterly released from serving the main sentence, 201 persons were released from serving their sentences on parole, and the punishment imposed on 15 persons was replaced with a milder one. Besides, the period of deprivation of liberty imposed on 58 persons has been reduced.

Among those pardoned are 17 citizens of foreign states, 63 women, 26 men over 60 years old, and 19 persons involved in the activities of banned organizations.

The decree was signed on the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Uzbekistan.
