Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait consider possibility of cooperation in defense sphere

Kyrgyzstan and Kuwait are considering a mutual possibility of cooperation in the defense sphere, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.

Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the State of Kuwait Azamat Karagulov held a meeting on Monday with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense of Kuwait Sheikh Hamad Al-Jaber Ali Al-Salim Al-Sabah with the aim of discussing the prospects for bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Karagulov highlighted the activities of the embassy on the development of Kyrgyz-Kuwaiti relations, its main results and plans, noting the increase in Kuwaiti tourists and trade in connection with the opening of direct flights between the countries.

Sheikh Hamad Al-Jaber Al Sabah welcomed the efforts of the leadership of the Kyrgyz Republic to intensify interaction with Kuwait and praised the desire for mutual support within international organizations, as well as the introduction of a visa-free regime for Kuwaiti citizens and openness to cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

The sides also exchanged views on the possibilities of cooperation in the defense sphere, including on the joint use of the natural conditions of Kyrgyzstan to organize programs for special training of the military in mountainous conditions, recreation and rehabilitation, as well as mutual support to improve the defense capability of the two countries.
