Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan agree on 38.3 km more border

Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have agreed on another 38.3 kilometres of border.

Working groups of government delegations met in Batken, APA’s Central Asia bureau reported.

The border between the two countries is 972 kilometres long.

As of August last year, a total of about 290 kilometres had been agreed upon. Since then, agreement on specific sections has reportedly been reached after almost every meeting.

In December, Kamchybek Tashiyev, Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, said that Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan had agreed on 90 per cent of the disputed sections.
