KazMunaiGas plans to produce up to 6.7 billion cubic metres of gas per year

Kazakhstan’s national oil and gas company KazMunaiGas is developing a gas strategy in which it plans to increase natural gas production to 6.7 billion cubic metres per year by 2030, excluding major projects such as Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan, Trend reported.

Development of three new fields began this year: Aksai Yuzhny, Eastern Urikhtau and Rozhkovskoye.

KazMunaiGas plans to start gas production at the Central Urikhtau field in the next three to four years in a volume of 1 billion cubic metres per year.

In addition, the West Prorva and Kalamkas fields are expected to be commissioned in 2027 and reach gas production volumes of 1.1 billion cubic metres per year. Twelve promising geological exploration projects and additional exploration projects in existing fields with the participation of international companies are being actively discussed.
