Kazakhstan vows to increase gas transit volumes from Russia to Uzbekistan

The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan vows to increase the transit volume of Russian gas to Uzbekistan via Kazakhstan from the previously planned 3 billion cubic meters to 11 BCM annually from 2026, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan said.

“Last year, the head of state launched the transit of Russian gas of up to 3 BCM per year was launched through the territory of our country to Uzbekistan,” said Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliev at the department’s board meeting.

On October 7, 2023, the Presidents of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Vladimir Putin of Russia and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan launched the transit of Russian natural gas through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan through the Central Asia
