Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan plan to increase their trade volume by 2 times to 10 billion dollars.

According to the Report, citing Kazakhstan’s media, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Prime Ministers Alikhan Smailov and Abdulla Aripov reached an agreement on this issue during talks in Almaty.

“We have a task to increase the volume of trade to 10 billion dollars. Therefore, it is necessary to take systematic measures to expand trade and economic ties. The government of Kazakhstan is ready for active joint work to achieve all the set goals,” Alikhan Smailov said at a meeting on the sidelines of the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Almaty.

The press service of the Government of Kazakhstan reported that trade turnover in 2022 reached the planned milestone of $5 billion, and in 11 months of 2023 it was $4.1 billion.

The sides also discussed issues of strengthening trade and economic cooperation, cooperation in agriculture, transit transport and gas. In particular, they reviewed the implementation of the Roadmap for increasing the volume of bilateral trade and the results of joint industrial projects.
