The Summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will be held on October 13 in Bishkek under the chairmanship of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadir Japarov.
In Bishkek the leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) are expected to discuss the ways to advance cooperation.
They are also set to make important decisions aimed at expanding and strengthening cooperation between the member states of the Commonwealth in the trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian areas, Kabarnews agency reported with reference to Muratbek Azimbakiev, the head of the foreign policy department of the presidential administration of the Kyrgyz Republic.
This year, Kyrgyzstan is chairing the bodies of the CIS. There are four statutory bodies in the Commonwealth, the most important of which is the Council of Heads of State.
While, a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers will be held on October 12, and a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government on October 26.
