23 documents were signed during the Uzbek-Turkmen summit, covering almost all areas of multifaceted Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan cooperation

Today, the documents signing ceremony was held following the negotiations, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the head of our state, Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan adopted a joint statement reflecting the main results of the summit and identifying promising areas for further strengthening Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan strategic partnership.

In the presence of the Heads of State, signed documents were also exchanged between the heads of ministries, agencies and regions of the two countries. These include an agreement on the establishment and regulation of Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan border trade zone, which provides for the creation of a trade center in adjacent territories, an agreement on increasing the volume of trade and expanding mutually beneficial partnerships between enterprises and companies, a protocol on the organization of the exchange of preliminary information on goods and vehicles transported across the customs border.

The Agreement on simplification of visa procedures for business representatives and the Protocol on introducing amendments to the agreement on mutual travel of citizens of November 19, 2004, will undoubtedly create favorable conditions for entrepreneurs of the two countries and will serve to strengthen interethnic harmony.

Important documents were signed to further enhance cooperation in transport, transit transportation, water-saving technologies, as well as justice, social protection, statistics, quarantine and plant protection, science and culture.

In total, 23 documents were signed during the visit, covering almost all areas of multifaceted Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan cooperation.
