Georgian citizens must register at the consulate until October 7, 2024 to participate in the parliamentary elections, the head of the Central Election Commission of Georgia (CEC) Giorgi Kalandarishvili said, reference to Georgian media.
According to Georgian legislation, it is mandatory to be registered in the consulate to participate in the voting.
Kalandarishvili emphasized that the consular lists of registered people would serve as the foundation for establishing polling stations. He further asserted that the Central Election Commission (CEC) would diligently uphold the law, ensuring that information regarding participation in elections reaches compatriots residing abroad.
Georgia will hold parliamentary elections on October 26.
