Romania’s, Bulgaria’s applications to join Schengen area rejected

The EU Council for Home Affairs and Justice opposed the entry of Bulgaria and Romania into the Schengen area, Report informs via bTV.

Twenty-five of 27 EU countries voted in favor of the Balkan states joining the Schengen area, while Austria and the Netherlands voted against it.

Meanwhile, the EU countries officially approved Croatia’s accession to the Schengen area.
