Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani dedicated his 91-year life to secure the right to self-determination for Kashmir, a region disputed between Pakistan and India since 1947, through a plebiscite.
Geelani held important positions in various parties throughout his life and was seen as one of the “key” leaders on both sides of Kashmir (Pakistan and India).
