Over 20 trapped in China due to mine flooding

Incident took place in northern China.

ANKARA (AA) – At least 20 people were trapped in an illegal coal mine in China’s Shanxi province due to flooding, state media reported on Thursday.

The accident took place at 11 p.m. local time (1500 GMT) Wednesday in the Duxigou Village where 22 people were working under the ground, state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.

Rescue work continues for the trapped miners.
