Uzbekistan and Sweden Consider Enhancing Inter-Parliamentary Interaction

A meeting was held with the participation of the heads of diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan, Iceland, Slovakia and Ecuador at the invitation of the Parliament’s Speaker of Sweden Andreas Norlén.

The parties discussed issues of the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation. Views were exchanged on regional and international issues, UzA reported.

Talks were held between the Charge d’affaires of Uzbekistan in Sweden Nodir Ganiyev and Speaker Andreas Norlén.

The head of the diplomatic mission spoke about the current large-scale democratic and constitutional reforms in Uzbekistan, including the upcoming referendum on amendments to the Constitution in April.

The parties also considered proposals to strengthen parliamentary exchanges between the Parliaments of Uzbekistan and Sweden.
