UK calls on China to respect freedom to protest

China must respect media freedom and freedom to protest, Report informs, citing the Twitter page of UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly.

“Media freedom and freedom to protest must be respected, No country is exempt,” he said.

Cleverly noted that the arrest of BBC journalist Ep Lawrence in China is deeply disturbing.

“Journalists must be able to do their job without intimidation,” he said.
