Three NATO aircraft carriers conduct exercises near Balkans

Three aircraft carriers – the American USS George Bush, the French FS Charles de Gaulle and the Italian ITS Cavour – conducted exercises to work out interaction in the Ionian Sea, the 6th operational fleet of the US Navy said, Report informs via Interfax.

Three NATO carrier strike groups demonstrated their commitment to security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic region during multi-carrier operations throughout their voyage in the Ionian Sea on 23 November.

At the same time, it is noted that “during November, five allied aircraft carrier strike groups will operate in the North Atlantic, in the Adriatic and the Mediterranean Sea.”

Now the new American aircraft carrier USS Gerald Ford and the British HMS Queen Elizabeth are on patrol off the European coast in the Atlantic.
