S. Korea, Philippines agree to cooperate on nuclear power

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and his Philippine counterpart Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. met on Saturday on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit, APA reports citing Teletrader.

The two talked about mutual cooperation between Seoul and Manila and expressed their hopes of working together on a range of joint ventures including their nuclear power and defense programs, Yoon’s office announced, according to Yonhap News Agency.

“President Yoon welcomed the Philippines’ proposal for cooperation regarding the resumption of the nuclear power plant in Batan and said he hopes detailed consultations will proceed speedily,” the announcement read.
