President Mirziyoyev’s Security Aide Visits India

The eighteenth meeting of the secretaries of the security councils of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) took place in New Delhi. Uzbekistan was represented by the president Mirziyoyev’s security aide Viktor Makhmudov.

The parties discussed the situation in the field of security and stability in the SCO countries.

The parties reviewed further cooperation between the SCO member states in cyber security, biomedical security, and cooperation on the anti-drug track were considered in detail. The also focused on specific measures to jointly counter transnational organized crime and terrorism.

They stressed their commitment to the principles of equal and indivisible security, respect for the fundamental provisions of international law and reached agreements that contribute to the new dynamics of cooperation between the SCO states in strengthening security, as well as the development of the organization in all areas.

In 2022, India assumed the chairmanship of the SCO for 2023.
