Fire engulfs World Trade Centre in Hong Kong, many trapped

Police say 100 people evacuated from major shopping center and office complex.

ISTANBUL (AA) – Several people are trapped inside the World Trade Center Hong Kong after a fire engulfed the major shopping center and office complex, local media reported Wednesday.

The fire was first reported at 12.37 p.m. local time (0437GMT), the daily South China Morning Post reported.

A woman was reported unconscious because of heavy smoke billowing out of the building, while two others have also been reported feeling unwell.

Firefighters are trying to douse the flames using two water jets.

Police said over 100 people were evacuated.
