Construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway to start in 2023

Construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is scheduled for autumn 2023, Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov said at a meeting of the country’s parliament, Report informs referring to the Kyrgyz media.

“The feasibility study of the project should be completed in April next year. Construction can begin in the fall,” Japarov said.

The railway corridor China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan will become the southern branch of the continental bridge of Eurasia. There are plans that it will open the markets of Southeast, West Asia and the Middle East.
