US to impose sanctions on more than 30 Chinese technology companies

The United States will impose sanctions on more than 30 Chinese tech companies this week, including the country’s largest memory chip maker, YMTC.

Report informs, citing Bloomberg, that, according to sources, getting into the blacklist means a ban on the purchase of American semiconductors and equipment for the production of chips, unless the suppliers have a special export permit issued by the US Department of Commerce. Bloomberg points out that such actions by the Joe Biden administration indicate an escalation of the Sino-American conflict in the field of technology.
