Kyrgyzstan detects Omicron variant of COVID-19

Kyrgyzstan has detected Omicron variant of COVID-19, Ministry of Health said, APA reports citing AKI Press.

The fourth wave of coronavirus infection has started in the country.

Samples of patients hospitalized in the National Infectious Diseases Hospital in Bishkek were tested for COVID-19 strains in early January. Omicron strain was detected in two cases, Ministry of Health said.
