China’s COVID-19 tally hits 25,000

China’s National Health Commission reported 25,129 new coronavirus local cases on November 17, with the number of positive patients increasing compared to the day before. The country’s capital, Beijing, registered nearly 500 new cases positive for the coronavirus, APA reports citing Tele Trader.

According to the report by the country’s national health commission, 2,362 were symptomatic and 22,991 were asymptomatic, with the highest number of recorded cases in Guangzhou detecting 8,989 asymptomatic and 255 symptomatic patients. Authorities in Guangzhou announced plans the day before to add about 250,000 beds to the mobile field hospitals to treat COVID-19 infections as the number of cases nationwide reached its highest level since April.
