Azerbaijan must be ready for a sustainable and green economy, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva said at the “Education in the Green Growth Agenda” conference in Baku.
According to her, from an early age, it is necessary to instill in future generations the knowledge, skills and habits that will help slow climate change.
“We want to continue to support STEM and engage young girls in STEAM education. We are always ready to cooperate with the private sector. We believe that cooperation in the field of education needs to be deepened. The private sector must demonstrate a flexible approach. After receiving higher education, young people must meet the requirements of the labor market,” Andreeva said.
The UN representative also noted that Azerbaijan’s preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) are being carried out at a high level.
