Kazakhstan, Pakistan discuss military cooperation

Kazakh defense minister meets senior Pakistani defense official in Nur Sultan

NUR SULTAN, Kazakhstan (AA) – Defense officials of Kazakhstan and Pakistan discussed bilateral relations and military cooperation between the two countries, Kazakhstan’s Defense Ministry said on Thursday.

Kazakhstan’s Defense Minister Nurlan Yermekbayev and Pakistan’s Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen. Nadeem Raza held inter-delegation talks after a ceremony in the capital Nur Sultan, according to a statement by the ministry.

The talks focused on current military cooperation between Kazakhstan and Pakistan, combat training, and joint deployment of troops in UN peacekeeping missions.

Gen. Raza also visited the National Defense University of Kazakhstan.

Pakistan and Kazakhstan enjoy cordial relations based on a common approach towards world issues as well as mutual understanding, the statement added.
