Japan joins the F-35 program

The term of the agreement is limited to March 2025.

WASHINGTON (AA) – The Pentagon has signed an agreement with Lockheed Martin for Japan to join the F-35 fifth generation fighter program.

The term of the agreement is limited to March 2025, and all costs will be covered by the Japanese government.

Earlier, the Japanese government began negotiations with the United States on the purchase of fifth-generation aircraft of the 35A and F-35B series in the amount of $ 23 billion

After the suspension of Turkey’s participation in the F-35 program in July 2019, 8 countries took part in this program.
