Russian inspectors to visit a military facility on the territory of Lithuania to assess it

According to Sergei Ryzhkov, head of the Russian National center for nuclear risk reduction, in accordance with the 2011 Vienna document on confidence-building and security measures, a Russian group of inspectors is planning to visit a military facility of the Lithuanian Armed Forces to assess information.

The one-day evaluation visit is taking place on August 17, 2021.

Such events take place in order to verify information on Armed Forces and information on plans for the deployment of major weapon and equipment systems.

It is planned that the Russian evaluation team will visit a military object at its normal peacetime location. The visitors will be given a briefing on the manpower and major weapon and equipment systems.
