When asked if Russia is considering establishing military bases in Cuba and Venezuela, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov called not to forget that they are sovereign countries, although he acknowledged the Kremlin’s interest in national security, APA reports.

“We are talking about sovereign states, let’s not forget. Given the current context, of course, Russia is thinking about how to ensure its security,” Peskov told reporters.
