Russia values the operative assistance of the authorities of Tajikistan in investigation of circumstances of the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack in Moscow region, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
“The tragedy only united people of different ethnic origin. We are grateful to the leadership of Tajikistan for the words of support and sympathy in this difficult time. We value the operative assistance in investigation of circumstances of the tragedy,” Lavrov said in welcoming remarks at the presentation of the Society of Friendship with Tajikistan.
Russia and its allies in the Collective Security Treaty Organization, CIS, Shanghai Cooperation Organization will have to step up efforts in fight against terrorism, FM Lavrov said.
144 people died as a result of the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall. Ten were arrested, including 4 suspected attackers. All of them are citizens of Tajikistan.
Several were detained in Tajikistan after the attack, who are suspected to have ties with Crocus attackers. The authorities of Tajikistan ramped up work with migrant workers to prevent their involvement into extremist communities in different counties, Russia among them.
