On November 5, Uzbekistan became an official party to the “Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-Border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific”, the press service of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade said.

The Agreement, adopted by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in 2016, is aimed at creating conditions for the mutual recognition of electronic trade documents and increasing the compatibility of national and subregional systems.

The document will take effect for Uzbekistan on February 3, 2025. To date, 14 countries have officially joined this agreement.

The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade has been appointed as the body in charge of the implementation of the agreement in Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan’s accession to this Agreement is expected to facilitate the country’s integration into the international paperless trade system, expedite and simplify export-import operations with friendly states of the Asia-Pacific region.
